George Kleeb - Great Basin College

My name is George Kleeb and I am interested in serving again on the Elko Chamber of Commerce Board. I want to use my experience, knowledge and background to help the Elko Area Chamber extend its impact in Northeastern Nevada. I have served the past two years on the Chamber board, with the last year as the Treasurer on the Executive Committee.
Since 2012 I have worked at Great Basin College first as the Nevada Small Business Development Center Specialist, helping business owners and entrepreneurs start and develop business, and now as a full time Business Department Instructor.
My career background is 30 years in the banking industry. I have been an active volunteer in all the communities that I have lived.   I have previously been the President of the Berthoud, Colorado Chamber of Commerce and have served in many leadership positions in civic and professional organizations. Since moving to Elko, I have volunteered with the Elko Area Chamber, Elko County Fair, The National Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Sunrise Toastmasters.
I was raised on a farm/ranch near Broken Bow Nebraska. Both my wife Deena and I have ownership interest in family farms and ranch operations. We have two grown children, Clint who works for Barrick Gold in Henderson NV and Kelly who is a student at UNLV.
Gratton Miller - Farr-West Engineering

I have graduated from UNR with a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in American History. I currently work for Farr-West Engineering as an Administrator III. This position includes the day to day accounting of the business and being the point of contact for most of the Elko Branch. I have grown up in Elko and spent most of my life in this town. I believe that I would be a great addition to the government affairs committee and promoting new and current businesses for the Chamber. My previous employment experience has taught me how to engage both governmental entities at different levels (city, county, state, and federal) and business leaders throughout those communities for policies that will help benefit numerous members of the Chamber. I also currently sit on the board for the CTHA (California Trail Heritage Alliance). During my time on this board I have helped with rewriting the bylaws for a more robust process before obtaining the President title. I have a vested interest in ensuring that the city of Elko continues to grow and build for the generations to come and will do anything in my power to ensure that our local government opens the city of Elko to more diverse businesses for the future benefit of the city.
Lynne Myrick - New American Funding, Inc.

When Lynne is not volunteering her time doing fundraising or community service, she is working hard with her team Kat and Tracy, to make homeownership a dream come true for the Elko County Community. She loves to spend time with her family and recently added to little kiddos, a one-year old boy and a two-year old girl, with hope of a very soon adoption. Elko is where she has dedicated her time and energy and plans to raise her family. Being voted as a Board Member for the Elko Area Chamber would help her to reach out and help so much more for our community than she already does. She can be reached at Lynn.Myrick@nafinc.com
Kate Kozminski - Kinross Gold Bald Mountain

My name is Kate Kozminski and I have lived in Elko for almost two years.  I have a very diverse background, having lived and worked in Ohio, Oregon, Alaska, and finally calling Nevada home.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati and am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Resource Economics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  I’ve worked in a variety of industries, from the equine industry to technology, manufacturing, education, and now mining.  I’m currently working at my second Kinross mine as a Mine Analyst at Bald Mountain.  My studies in resource economics have taught me the importance of developing sustainable economies, and I want to be a part of encouraging that in my city.  I’m currently a board member of the Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority (NNRDA) and would like to be a board member of the Elko Chamber of Commerce as well.  I see these organizations as key support mechanisms for local business, which is the most critical component of building a long-term sustainable economy that reaches far beyond the benefits of the natural resources that we enjoy today.
Nancy Streets - Elko Daily Free Press

I believe in the Elko Area Chamber of Commerce – their goals and their ideals.  They are a leader in making a stronger business community in Elko, which makes a stronger community as a whole.  I want to be a part of that.
With my years as the Advertising Director at the Elko Daily Free Press and the Sparks Tribune, combined with having previously served on The Chamber’s Board of Directors in Elko and in Sparks, I can use my experience to help small businesses and also new businesses.
Paul Romero - Clarity Window Cleaning & Janitorial Services

I believe that my love and admiration for the city of Elko and what the Chamber provides for all businesses is why I would be an asset for the board. Having attended or participated in events that promote the Elko community and businesses has only made my passion grow.
As Clarity has grown over time with the help of the Chamber and said events, it has made me want to find out even more what the Chamber has to offer and get involved being on the board. I want to take that information and help spread it through the community and local businesses, so that more people get involved.

With her vast knowledge of small business, marketing and her leadership skills, Denise feels that she has a lot of offer the Board of Directors and to our Chamber Members and is excited for the opportunity to be part of the board again.
Mark Mickelsen - Valkyre Powder Coating

I wanted to take this opportunity to run as a member of the Elko Chamber Board of Directors.
After 26 years of working to the government I decided to break off and do my own thing. Being a new veteran owned business, I have experienced the pit falls of starting new in a small town.  We have been in Elko for almost three years and have been in business for a year and nine months of it. When we teamed up with the chamber, doors started to open thanks to meeting so many wonderful people.
Since that time, we have participated in business expos, car shows, before & after hour events, and Beerfest.  I love the community and what it means for the folks that live here.  It is where we call home and want to be a part of this growing community.  As a veteran I love the honor and pride Elko has for its military folks.  I would like to see more veteran owned business come to Elko and call it home.
I have learned a lot business wise over the past year and want to share that with anyone who is part of this community and struggling. Just remember this is your dream, seize the moment and make it happen.  I strive to bring positive energy wherever I go to help light the spark in, others creativity and in life.  Being able to meet others that share their passions for what they do or strive to do, keeps me going every day.
Having friends and business contacts all over the world has helped me learn and do what’s needed to promote positive change in the community. I do my best to stay humble, work hard, and be a productive member to our community.  If I am selected to serve as a member of the board, I will give it my all!
Shirley Alen-Kellerman - Nevada State Bank

As a member of the Nevada State Bank family for more than nine years, I love being able to help my small business clients achieve their goals not only with business but personal financial needs and planning as well. With more than 40 years in the banking industry, I am experienced in consumer and small business lending, collections, credit administration, credit cards, mortgage lending, and (most of all) superior customer satisfaction.
As a native of Elko, I am very involved in the business community with a focus on economic development. Currently I serve on the board for the Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority with the past 3 years serving as the vice chair for 1 year and the Chairman for 2, I am First Chair for the Rural Nevada Development Corporation, current Board Member for the Elko Area Chamber and Board President for Ruby Mountain Resource Center. I try to attend regularly the City Council and County Commission meetings and would like to participate on the County Planning Council. Also, by being part of the Chamber Board I am very involved in attending community events and meeting with strength of our rural communities our local business owners and trying to understand their needs and plans for growth in our community. My community involvement included serving as Executive Director for the Miss Elko County Scholarship Program for five years, past board member and chairman for the board for the United Way of the Great Basin, and past board trustee for Great Basin College Foundation. I also coached youth soccer for 13 years.
I look forward to helping our community and our local businesses and owners with all their business and personal needs. With my knowledge and my involvement in the community I feel I can continue to be a good representative for the Elko Area Chamber. I hope you will consider allowing me to serve on the Chamber board for another 2 years.
In my free time, I enjoy speed walking, reading, cooking and creating new dishes, as well as spending time with my family and friends. I am the proud mother of three adult children and grandmother of two grandsons, Easton 9 and Conner 7 and two granddaughters, Zoe, who is not with us physically and Harper James who just turned 17 months.
Tino Ayala - Plumbline Inc.

My name is Florentino Ayala, I am married to Lori Ayala and we have three amazing children. I am outgoing person and I love the outdoors. I have been working in plumbing and HVAC for the past 30 years. I am the owner/manager of Plumbline Inc. I have had my own company for the past 15 years.
Being a local business owner and having lived in Elko for over 30 years, I have a good relationship with many of our community members. I care about the local economy and work with local business owners (friends) on ways to keep community members using local businesses when possible. After taking over complete ownership of Plumbline, it was difficult to move into a management role from working in the field. I have become more comfortable in my role and now have more time to dedicate to the Chamber and our common goals.

I strongly believe a friendly attitude towards coworkers and working well with others plays an important part in succeeding. I work well with individuals, teams and organizations. I like to be involved in the community and I like to see when businesses succeed.
