COMMITTEES & COUNCILS

Government Affairs Committee
Meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, Stockmen's Hotel & Casino
  • Monitor Legislative affairs for impact on area businesses and makes recommendation to the Board of Directors
  • Sponsors candidate's forums and guest speakers.
  • Help to keep membership informed of pertinent issues.
Ambassadors
Meets second Thursday of the month, 12:00 noon, Red Lion Inn & Casino
  • Act as liaison between the Chamber and the business community.
  • Help to recruit new members.
  • Visit new business members and welcome to the Chamber
  • Participate in ribbon cuttings and grand openings
  • Organize and coordinate Business after Hours monthly.
  • Assist with Chamber fundraisers and events. ( Core group of Chamber volunteers )
Budget & Finance Committee
  • Meets with Treasurer twice a year to review budget and as needed to discuss finances.
Elko Economic Issues Committee (EEIC)
Meets the 1st Friday of the Month at 10:00am at Great Basin College
  • Define the Chamber's position regarding economic retention and development in the Elko area.
  • Suggest ideas as to how the Chamber might become proactive and assist with economic retention.
  • Represent the Chamber at town hall and special meetings' regarding economic development issues and report back to the Board of Directors.
  • Work on projects that will influence the prosperity of our economy.
