AssetAssurance Monitoring LLC: Pioneering Mine Safety and Strengthening Community Ties

This month, the Elko Area Chamber proudly shines the spotlight on AssetAssurance Monitoring LLC (AAM), an industry leader that has been advancing mine safety and operational monitoring since March 2020. As a chamber member since earlier this year, AAM has quickly established itself as a vital part of our community.
Motivation:
The driving force behind AAM is their commitment to supporting their colleagues, friends, and clients by providing top-quality data and services that address unique needs and challenges. Their focus on education, knowledge sharing, and fostering innovation is clear. As John Steven Metzger, Manager and Geomatics Counselor at AAM, puts it: “We are motivated by supporting safe mining practices, optimizing operations and production, and offering environmental and community support.”
Chamber Partnership:
AAM’s connection to Elko runs deep; they have been involved in the area since 2006, providing essential mine site monitoring services as vendor solutions providers. Their recent move to establish their own full-time presence has been met with a warm welcome from the Chamber. Metzger reflects on this, saying, “The Chamber has welcomed us as we moved into town. We are excited to engage with other Chamber Members and local businesses.”
Interesting Fact:
An interesting fact about AAM is their dual-office setup, with one location in Indiana. However, their contributions to mine safety in Nevada have been noteworthy, starting with the introduction of mine slope monitoring at Lone Tree in 2006—the first ground-based radar system in the state. Since then, more than 30 systems have been implemented across Nevada. Their team’s extensive experience spans global success with major monitoring manufacturers such as GroundProbe, IDS GeoRadar, and Reutech. “We know monitoring from the ground—UP!” Metzger states, emphasizing their unique expertise and involvement with the major instrument manufacturers.
Supporting Local Growth:
While AAM does not currently accept Chamber Checks due to their focus on services and consulting, Metzger hints at future prospects: “We hope to establish a consumables product line with collaborators and may then offer Chamber Checks.” This potential move would provide new avenues for local engagement and community involvement.
Advice for New Business Owners:
Metzger offers sage advice for new entrepreneurs: “Share, talk, support one another. Business is always a challenge across all sectors. Community-supported business and a strong Chamber can project positive images, deliver results, and inspire others to join our community.”
AssetAssurance Monitoring LLC is more than a business; they are a testament to innovation, collaboration, and community spirit. Their commitment to excellence and their connection to Elko strengthen the fabric of our local industry, and we’re excited to witness their continued growth and success.
