PACE Coalition - Serving the Elko Community for 23 Years

Since its inception 23 years ago, PACE Coalition has been an unwavering force in addressing substance use disorders in Northeastern Nevada. Joining the Elko Area Chamber in 2005, this non-profit organization, under the stewardship of Laura Oslund, has been a beacon of hope for countless families and individuals.
Motivation:
Laura Oslund, the Executive Director of PACE Coalition, has witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of substance use disorders on children and families. Her motivation stems from a deep-seated belief that prevention is the most effective strategy. "As someone who has seen the negative impacts of substance use disorders on children and families, I believe the best, least costly and disruptive way to reduce harm is by preventing the start of substance use by youth," says Oslund.
Chamber Partnership:
The Elko Area Chamber plays a crucial role in supporting PACE Coalition's mission. Oslund acknowledges the chamber's contribution: "The Chamber offers PACE training and networking opportunities. Their email blast and monthly newsletter help us let the community know about special events and opportunities."
Interesting Fact:
One fascinating aspect of PACE Coalition's work is their commitment to collaboration. During their monthly meetings, which are open to anyone, they exchange information and ideas with as many as 40 non-profits and agencies serving Northeastern Nevadans. This collaborative approach amplifies their impact and strengthens the community as a whole.
Community Engagement:
While PACE Coalition doesn't sell products or services as a non-profit organization, they thrive on the support and collaboration within the community. When asked about the benefit of Chamber Checks to their business and the community, Oslund responds, "As a non-profit organization, PACE Coalition does not sell products or services, so Chamber Checks would not be applicable to our business."
Advice for New Business Owners:
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Oslund emphasizes the importance of relationships. "Relationships are key to our success, and I recommend that any new business owner pay careful attention to building and nurturing relationships in any communities in which they operate." This sage advice underscores the significance of community engagement and collaboration in achieving shared goals.
In conclusion, PACE Coalition's dedication to preventing substance use disorders and fostering community collaboration exemplifies the spirit of service and resilience. With Laura Oslund at the helm and the unwavering support of the Elko Area Chamber, they continue to make a profound difference in the lives of Northeastern Nevadans.
