Meeting was called to order by Gwen King at 12:05
a.) City of Elko- Curtis Calder reported on a few of the Elko City Council 01/10/17 meeting agenda items, including the following:
-Newmont Mining Corporation’s Long Canyon Phase II Project update will not be taking place due to the unavailability of the presenter.
-Mayoral designation of City Council members to specific “Liaison” positions within the City of Elko. There are 19 “Liaison” positions.
-Review, consideration, and possible approval to solicit bids for the WRF Potable Water Air Gap System, and matters related thereto.
- Review, consideration, and possible approval of an agreement between the Elko Park Foundation Inc. and the City of Elko for the purposes of managing private funding sources for the proposed sports complex, and matters related thereto.
b.) City of Carlin- No report
c.) Spring Creek Association- Jesse Bahr reported on a few of the following key items:
-They have been dealing with clearing the roads due to weather issues.
-The Municipality Studies first draft will be available in a few weeks.
-The new golf course building will be opening later this month.
-Water Meter reading issues still continue.
a.) Elko County School District- Jeff Zander reported on a few items:
-Sage Elementary will be going out to bid soon for the addition of four classrooms to be added to the main building.
-Elko County has seen a large growth in the primary grades.
-The addition of another school for Elko or Spring Creek is going to be announced in the next few months.

III.) Great Basin College- No report
IV.) Northeastern NV Regional Hospital- Steve Burrows reported on the following items:
-A new interventional cardiologist (ER Cardiologist) has been hired and will be joining the staff on April 1, 2017.
-NNRH and Ruby Radio will be combining their two health fairs into one. They will have a lab on site to offer a free comprehensive metabolic panel.
V.) NNRDA- No report
VI.) Elko Area Chamber- Billie Crapo reported that there is a brand new board for 2017 and announced their names. Also reported was that the Chamber’s annual Installation Reception will take place on 01/14/17. Tickets are $25.
VII.) Public Comment Period- Laura Oslund, Executive Director of PACE Coalition, reported that there will be a “pre” Take Pride Clean Up Green Up Day meeting taking place on 01/27/17 at Elko City Hall. This year’s actual event will take place on April 22, 2017. All who would like to help are encouraged to participate in the meeting.
- Matt McCarty, GAC Committee member, reported on some information concerning the State Legislation website and the list of Bill Draft Requests. He reported on “Bill Tracker Updates” and how one goes about to use this tool to keep an eye on bills that could affect Chamber members and the community.
