Meeting was called to order by George Kleeb at 12:03
a.) City of Elko- Curtis Calder reported on a few of the Elko City Council 05/09/17 meeting agenda items, including the following:
-Sanitary bid for the Elko Sports Complex.
-Flag View/Ruby Vista sidewalk project is complete.
-Possibility of selling the old communications tower on the old police station.
-Centennial Tower project will be completed by late summer or early fall.
-Upcoming Wine Walk street closure.
-Demolition of the old police station, asking for reaffirmation.
b.) City of Carlin- No report
c.) Spring Creek Association-Report was sent via e-mail
-Horse Palace design study follow up
a.) Elko County School District- No report
b.) Elko County- No report
III.) Great Basin College- George Kleeb reported on the following item:
-New GBC president was elected. She is very community minded and everyone is very excited for her to start.
IV.) Northeastern NV Regional Hospital- Steve Burrows reported that:
-Dr. Pullins was going to be leaving Pinion Rd. Orthopedics and they were hoping to fill the new position quickly.
-They would be using local resources to find new doctors, instead of corporate out of towners.
-Hospital/Nurses week was approaching and they were going to be celebrating it.
-They finally have a new HR director, which they are all very happy about.
-Their centennial boot is complete. It had 265 baby photos on it, with the oldest dating back to 1889!
V.) NNRDA- Pam Borda reported that they co-hosted the Canadian delegation, and they had some great meetings. Economic Development Advisory’s contract with the state is due this week for the next two year’s funding.
VI.) Elko Area Chamber- Billie Crapo reported on the upcoming various chamber events.
